    San Gwann is the kind of town that doesn't get written about much, which is a shame because it solves a specific problem very well: how do you find a central base in Malta that doesn't cost Sliema money and doesn't require living somewhere with no nearby facilities? The answer is a town with decent supermarkets, good road access in all directions, reasonable rents, and a growing stock of modern apartments that developers discovered about a decade ago. It's not a scenic town — there's no sea view and no historic centre worth visiting — but the commute to Sliema is eight minutes by car, Valletta fifteen, and the airport twenty.
